Abstract
For the evaluation of present status of physical fitness in ROKAF officers, fat, pulmonary function, blond pressure before and after exercise and optimal work capacity were measured in 77 officers.
The results were summarized as follows;
1. There were no changes in height and weight at different age group but % fat was significantly increased with aging (p <0.05).
2. The vital capacity and maximal breathing capacity were significantly decreased with aging (P <0.05). And the FEV 1" in all age group was lower than normal value and it tend to be decreased with aging.
3. The resting blood pressure was normal value in all age group. And systolic pressure after 2 min lasting treadmill exercise was significantly increased(P <0.02), but diastolic pressure after exercise tended to be increased in all age group.
4. The optimal work capacity war significantly decreased with aging(P <0.05), i.e., the mean physical fitness level in the senior officers is in below average grade and in the junior officers is in the good grade.
According to the above results, cardiopulmonary function and physical fitness were
decreased with aging. We suggest that cardiopulmonary junction will be intensified and physical fitness level will be marked at higher grade b continuous training of ¡°aerobic program for air force men ; AFP 60-2}".
